PROJECT GRADUATION 2012
HOME PARENTS STUDENTS DONORS AUCTION
March 10, 2012
GOLF TOURNAMENT

~~ The date for 2012 Graduation has not been finalized yet ~~

If you are parents of a CHS senior student now is your turn to participate!  As you know, Project Graduation is a post-graduation drug and alcohol free celebration that is open to all graduates at no cost to the parents or graduate.  This is accomplished completely by parent volunteers and is not funded by the school.  All funding is the result of parent volunteers securing donations of cash, goods, and services to make the event possible.

Organization of this event takes many volunteers who begin planning and working early in the school year.  Each committee’s job is an integral part of the entire party.  Please refer to the Project Graduation Committee Description for more detailed information.

Volunteers are needed for each committee. The time for parents to get involved is early in your student’s high school career.  Your help will ensure the continuation of the party for your student when he/she is a senior.

Project Graduation is an expensive undertaking.  The event costs approximately $50,000, and is funded by donations and fundraisers.    Fundraising activities begin as early as October.  For more details, please refer to the Fundraising Committee.

 PROJECT GRADUATION COMMITTEES

Parents - please take a look at the Parents page and see what you can do to help with Project Graduation.  Please contact chairwoman  Linda Marrs at school at (573) 346-9299 or 216-8477 (cell), or by email lmarrs@camdentonschools.org .  If you have never worked at a Project Graduation party, please join us!  You will thoroughly enjoy the entire experience.  Do not wait until your student is a senior—there are so many more exciting things you can participate in when your student is an underclassman!

Activities

This committee is responsible for hiring all entertainment for the night of Project Graduation such as the DJ, Karaoke, Hypnotist, Magician, Palm Readers, Caricature Artists, etc.  Senior-parent volunteers are needed on Graduation night.  These volunteers will work with the Committee Chairperson to ensure all activities run smoothly.

Chaperons/Security

This committee provides supervision for the evening of the party.  Senior parents are needed to chaperone at the party itself.

Clean Up

This committee assembles a crew of about ten workers to take down all decorations and to clean up after the party.   Non-senior parents are welcome and encouraged to volunteer for this.

Senior Prizes

Every graduate leaves the party with a prize.  This committee is responsible for providing all of the prize items either through donations or through purchases.  Senior parents are welcome to offer their services for solicitation or purchase of these items.  Parents are needed to distribute the prizes to the graduates.  Senior prizes are distributed in the morning upon returning to school from the party.

Food

This committee is very important to our teenagers!  For the many years we have been doing this party we have not had to purchase any food.  Our community has been very generous.  Non-senior parent volunteers are needed throughout the entire day of graduation to help pick up these donated foods and drinks and deliver them to the facility.

Fundraising

As we stated earlier, this party needs a lot of funding!  We have various ways in which we raise funds.  If anyone would like to help in any way on one or all of these fundraises or would like to purchase tickets, please call Carolyn or Mary at the numbers listed above.

  1. LETTERS are sent to all area businesses asking for contributions and all the parents of our high school students are asked to make donations.

  2. Working the concession stands.  We have select dates available for us.

  3. Auction.  Each March we have a silent and live auction where donated items are auctioned off.

Publicity

This committee ensures all information regarding Project Graduation is publicized as well as possible.  Meeting dates, fundraising events and other pertinent information is advertised through the efforts of this committee.
